1) No purchase necessary to enter. 2) Each promotional week, sports writer Dan Nowak from the New Haven Register will make his selection on the designated prep races and Triple Crown races. 3) Patrons may log on to www.Newhavenregister.com to view Nowak’s picks. They will then click on a link to a special promotion entry form where they can make their selection on the upcoming contest race. 4) The following races will be used for the promotion: March 22 – Lane’s End Stakes; March 29 – Florida Derby; April 5 – Wood Memorial; April 12 – Arkansas Derby; April 19 – Lexington Stakes; April 26 – Withers Stakes; May 3 – Kentucky Derby; May 17 – Preakness Stakes; June 7 – Belmont Stakes. 5) Entries for each promotional week will open on the Thursday before the race, and will close at post time of the designated race. People may also enter at Sports Haven on the day of the contest. 6) For each winner Mr. Nowak selects, Autotote will make a $200 donation to the charity of his choice. He will earn $100 for a second place finish and $50 for a third place finish. 7) For each designated race, patrons who have selected the winning horse will be entered into a drawing for a 50 inch television that will be given away after the Belmont Stakes, Saturday, June 7. 8) Every contest week, one patron will win a $100 wagering voucher and $25 gift certificate for dinner at the Turf Club Restaurant at Sports Haven. Patrons do not have to be present to win the voucher and gift certificate, but must claim the prize in person with proper picture identification. In addition, everyone who selects the correct horse each contest week will win 1,000 Trophy Club points. If people are not members of the Trophy Club, they may join. The Trophy Club is free to enter. 9) After the Belmont Stakes, Autotote will first give away the $100 voucher and gift certificate from the entries with the winning horse submitted for that race as mentioned in rule seven. 10) In order to win the television, patrons must be present at Sports Haven following the Belmont Stakes Saturday, June 7. A name will be drawn from an entry bin. The person will have approximately two minutes to claim the prize. If the person does not come forward, then another name will be drawn. This will continue until a person claims the prize. 11) In the event that a designated race is canceled or postponed, then there will be no contest that day. The contest will resume the following week with the scheduled designated race. 12) In the event that a person selects a horse that is scratched, the person will be given the post time favorite. 13) People who select a coupled entry will get both horses in the entry. In the event of field entries, people may only select one horse. 14) Winners are subject to all state and federal taxes. 15) People may enter twice, once on–line and once in person each week. 16) The receipt of a registration form signifies the entrant’s acceptance of all rules and conditions stated herein. 17) All contestants must be 18 years of age. 18) All participants agree to have their name or image appear in any publicity material (posters, newsletters, programs, etc) and to be printed in any publication. 19) Officers and employees and their immediate families, of Autotote Enterprises and the employees of the Division of Special Revenue, State of Connecticut, and Journal Register employees are not eligible to enter the contest. 20) The right is reserved to terminate, modify or withdraw this contest at any time without prior notice. 21) By accepting a prize, each winner releases and agrees to hold harmless, Autotote Enterprises, and their parent and their affiliated and subsidiary companies, advertising and promotion agencies and their respective trustees, directors, officers, employees, representatives and agents of each of them from any and all liability for any injuries, loss or damage of any kind to person, including death and property, arising in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, use or misuse of a prize, participation in any contest related activity or participation in this contest. 22) Where permitted, the winner agrees to permit Autotote and their parent and affiliated and subsidiary companies and those acting pursuant to the direction or control of either of them, the right to print, publish, broadcast and use, worldwide in any media now known or hereafter developed, including to but not limited to the World Wide Web, at any time or times, the winner’s name, portrait, picture, voice, likeness and biographical information as news or information and for advertising, trade and promotional purposes without additional consideration, compensation, authorization and remuneration; and further without such additional compensation, appear for, or provide biographical information for use in, any presentation or other activity which may include filming/ audio/ video/electronic or other recordings and / or interviews, as may be determined from time to time by Autotote.
